Join us this holiday for our Yoga and Sacred Healing: Easter and Passover Symposium!

Celebrate a traditional Passover Seder and a beautiful Easter morning with us in paradise. Listen to traditional stories and receive messages of hope and faith from leading teachers and presenters!  There will also be traditional Easter chanting by the choir of Trinity Full Baptist Church from Nassau, Bahamas.

Swami Sivananda taught that health is a positive state. It is not simply negation of disease. It is our birthright, and is as natural as being born. Learn how to experience your radiant health and vitality as we explore healing modalities from various traditions and their connection to spirituality through this inspiring week of lectures and workshops with world-renowned healers, therapists, and authors. 

Spring is a season of rebirth and renewal, a holy time for many, when individuals of diverse faiths and beliefs engage in spiritual practices and rituals that hold great meaning and opportunities for healing. Come discover healing on all levels — body, mind, and spirit.

Requirements and Recommendations:

Swami Swaroopananda

Swami Swaroopananda is a senior disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda. A practicing yogi from a very young age, Swami Swaroopananda has dedicated his life to the practice and teaching of yoga. He taught in Yoga Teacher Training Courses around the world and is currently teaching advanced yoga philosophy courses and lectures internationally. He is Director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat and acharya (spiritual director) for the Sivananda centers and ashrams in the Bahamas and the Middle East. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres.

Marilyn Rossner

Marilyn Rossner, PhD, is the co-founder of the International Institute of Integral Human Sciences, and founder-president of The Spiritual Science Fellowship of Canada. She is a retired professor of special care counseling, a childrens behavior therapist, and one of the worlds most gifted intuitives.

Bishop Trevor Williamson presently serves as the Founding and Senior Pastor of the Trinity Global Cathedral Baptist Church in Nassau, Bahamas.

Dr John Beaulieu

John Beaulieu, ND, PhD, is a naturopathic doctor, counseling psychologist, board-certified polarity therapist, composer, pianist, and sound therapist. His career spans over 40 years of creative arts, healing arts, and martial arts. A world leader in the use of integrative energy medicine for healing, Dr. Beaulieu is the author of four books including Human Tuning, and Music and Sound in the Healing Arts. He is an instructor of sound science and sound therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Silvia Nakkach

Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, is a Grammy-nominated musician, award-winning
composer, and voice-culturist. A former psychotherapist and academic programs consultant, she is an accredited authority within the fields of sound in yoga and transformation of consciousness.

For more than 35 years, Silvia has studied and performed the ragas and North Indian classical music under the guidance of the late maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and other renowned masters. She teaches raga singing in retreats and universities throughout the world, as well as in her international school, Vox Mundi School of the Voice. Her most recent book is Free Your Voice.

Dr. Marisa Jackson-Kinman

Dr. Marisa Jackson-Kinman (Sri Devi) is an Ayurvedic Doctor and the Lead Faculty at the California College of Ayurveda, where she is also involved in curriculum development. Dr. Jackson-Kinman’s certifications include Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, Pancha Karma Specialist, and Sivananda Yoga Teacher, among others. She is a contributing writer to various magazines including the Ayurveda Journal of Health. Marisa is a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and a former Member of the Board of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. She teaches a variety of Ayurvedic workshops at various locations worldwide.

Durga Leela

Durga Leela is an Ayurvedic and Yoga Therapy Specialist and the founder of Yoga of Recovery®, a comprehensive program that integrates Ayurveda and yoga with recovery tools for those affected by addiction and self-destructive behaviors. She teaches a holistic approach to recovery, integrating mind, body, and spirit. She overcame her own struggles with addiction and is a grateful member of 12-step fellowships for over 20 years.

Julie Lusk

Julie Lusk, MEd, E-RYT 500, brings over 40 years of expertise in yoga, relaxation training, guided
imagery, and meditation to her work. She is talented in bringing the best out in others through her
depth of knowledge, natural lightheartedness, and caring nature. She is an international author, recording artist
and workshop leader. Her newest book is Yoga Nidra Meditations. Her retreats, trainings, and seminars are
relaxing, reflective, and revitalizing.  She lives in Ohio.

Tom Spector (Kumar)

Tom Spector (Kumar), PhD, began meditating in 1968 while enrolled in a highly selective, intense graduate program at Yale University. Meditation clarified issues and enabled him to complete the full doctoral program in three years. He has continued a daily meditation and yoga practice ever since, even when he worked as an international vice president for cancer research. Tom enjoyed personal meditations with Swami Vishnudevanda and has studied under Ram Dass. He has been teaching meditation and healing since 1976 and authored Our Two Gardens: How to Cultivate Healing, and produced a CD entitled Meditation and Healing.

Beth Spindler

Beth Spindler has taught for four decades internationally in yoga-related studies. A registered yoga therapist and ERT-500 yoga teacher, her book, <em>Yoga Therapy for Fear; Treating Anxiety, Depression and Rage with the Vagus Nerve and other Techniques</em> has been a number one seller on Amazon and is a training manual in many yoga teacher training programs.

Beth has studied in all branches of the Krishnamacharya lineage, as well as in Sri Vidya Tantra, Kundalini, Anusara, Phoenix Rising. A trainer of hundreds of teachers, Beth has also studied modern trauma counseling, neuroscience, and biomechanics with the intent of making yoga accessible to everyone.

Swami Hridyananda

Swami Hridyananda is a direct disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda and senior staff at the  Yoga Retreat. She has spent over 35 years teaching different aspects of yoga, as well as teaching in Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Courses. She also teaches meditation, thought power, chanting, and supports individuals on their inner transformative journey.

Swami Brahmananda is a monk and senior teacher of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers and is the current Manager of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas. Swami Brahmananda joined the Sivananda organization in 1999 and was initiated into Sannyasa (monasticism) in 2006.

A long-time practitioner of yoga, meditation and philosophical studies, he regularly teaches meditation and yoga philosophy for the Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Courses as well as the Advanced Yoga Teachers’ Training Courses. He also teaches online courses on the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and Vedanta. Swami Brahmananda is a much-loved, inspiring, and knowledgeable teacher.

Swami Paramananda

Swami Paramananda is a monk and senior teacher of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers . Swami Paramananda joined the Sivananda organization in 2006 and was initiated into Sannyasa (monasticism) in 2016.

A long-time practitioner of yoga, meditation and philosophical studies, he regularly teaches in the Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Courses as well as the Advanced Yoga Teachers’ Training Courses. He also teaches online courses and guides students from around the world in their practice and study.

Swami Paramananda is a much-loved, inspiring, and gifted teacher.

Jnaneshwari Chaitanya

Jnaneshwari Chaitanya is a senior staff member and teacher
of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat. An experienced and devoted practitioner, she is an inspiring and insightful teacher of Yoga and Vedanta in Yoga Teacher Training Courses and many other the ashram programs. Jnaneshwari Chaitanya is known for her clear and pure way of communicating yogic knowledge and its
application in daily life, and is especially known for her skill in teaching the Bhagavad Gita.

Rukmini Chaitanya

Rukmini Chaitanya is a senior staff member of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas, and the personal assistant to Swami Swaroopananda, the Acharya, or spiritual director of the Ashram. She regularly teaches the Bhagavad Gita during the Sivananda Yoga Teacher training as well as other courses on the Bhagavad Gita, Vedanta, positive thinking, meditation, and yoga philosophy.

Rukmini Chaitanya is known for her enthusiastic and inspiring teaching style as well as for her devotion to the lineage and the scriptures. She is dedicated to each of her students and has an innate desire to share knowledge with them. She brings a great deal of clarity to every topic and is highly appreciated for her capacity to unfold complicated topics and present them in a coherent and pure way.

Pranava Chaitanya

Pranava Chaitanya is an advanced Sivananda Yoga teacher and senior staff at the ashram. He regularly teaches workshops, courses, and delivers satsang talks on a variety of topics including yogic practice, meditation, positive thinking, raja yoga, yogic diet, stress management, and yogic tools for happiness. He is one of the most popular and beloved teachers of our Sivananda Essentials Courses. He teaches with love, compassion, and care for his students, while delivering the materials in a very clear and coherent manner. Pranava Chaitanya is also a member of the Hatha Yoga team of our Yoga Teacher Training Courses (TTCs) at the ashram. He is the manager of the ashram kitchen and an expert on yogic and Ayurvedic nutrition and diet.

Tara Rachel Jones (Omkari)

Tara Rachel Jones (Omkari), MEd, is an experienced Waldorf and Montessori educator, and Sivananda Yoga teacher, who has been working with children since 1989. Her approach is a synthesis of education, developmental movement, and yogic teachings that she developed under the guidance of Yashoda, a senior disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda. She is the author of It’s Time for Yoga (available through www.littlebounderbooks.com) and director of family programs at the Yoga Retreat. coherent and pure way.

Anjum Desai

Anjum Desai (RYT200) is a Sivananda Yoga teacher working with children since 2016. She was trained under Tara Rachael Jones (Omkari) and adapts the similar methodology of including the Story as the base to keep the children focused on the practice.

Shambhavi (Gili Raveh)

Shambhavi (Gili Raveh) is an Advanced Sivananda Yoga Teacher and an experienced ThetaHealing practitioner and teacher who holds a Certificate of Science in ThetaHealing. She is also certified to teach iRest Yoga Nidra and is an Access Bars Facilitator and Reiki master. She is a karma yogi in the ashram where she teaches workshops, assists the teacher training, and works in guest relations and marketing.
