Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death in the world and this has been increasing epidemically. Lifestyle, diet, physical inactivity and negative mental states are the main causes. In this discussion, we’ll look at how Ayurveda and Yoga can help to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
March 14th: Ayurveda and Cancer with Dr. Rugue
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world and is a major source of suffering for people and their families. Environmental factors, food, lifestyle and emotions play a powerful role in the causes of and the healing of cancer. In this discussion, we’ll see the Ayurvedic approach to prevention and supportive treatment.
March 15th: Ayurveda and Digestive Disease with Dr. Halpern
According to Ayurveda, the digestive system is the the root of physical illness as it manifests within the body. In this discussion, Dr. Halpern will explore the role of the digestive system, the stages of disease, touch on the microbiome, and explore some common digestive issues.
March 16th: Ayurveda and Autoimmune Diseases with Dr. Halpern
According to Ayurveda, autoimmune disorders are due to low Ojas. In this satsang Dr. Halpern will discuss some common diseases of autoimmune origin and explore how Ojas are made and how they can be preserved in the body.
March 17th: Question and Answers with Dr. Rugue and Dr. Halpern
Bring your questions about the topics discussed in the previous evening satsangs.

Dr. Marc Halpern
Marc Halpern (Siva), AyD. DC, is an Ayurvedic Doctor, Chiropractor, and Sivananda Yoga teacher. Founder and President of the California College of Ayurveda, he is the author of the popular book Healing Your Life: Lessons on the Path of Ayurveda and the creator of the bestselling recording Yoga Nidra and Self-Healing. A leader in the field, Dr. Halpern is also co-founder of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and President of the National Council on Ayurvedic Education. He authored three textbooks and co-authored several published research papers, receiving numerous awards for his service in Ayurveda in both India and the United States.
Dr. Jose Ruge Ruberio
Dr. Jose Ruge Rubeiro is a medical doctor and specialist in internal medicine in Brazil. Having completed his post-graduate studies in Ayurvedic medicine, he is now President of the World Movement for Yoga and Ayurveda and the honorary president of the Portuguese Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. Dr. Jose combines his loves of yoga, Ayurveda, and medicine in his work with the Suddha Saba Yoga and Ayurveda Ashram in Brazil.
