The Science of Happiness: Introduction to the Royal Path of Raja Yoga
6 SESSIONS, Saturdays, 12:00-2:00pm ET
All of us seek to be happy, but do we look for happiness in the right places? When we think of happiness most of us have come to mistake pleasure for happiness. It is natural within us to seek pleasure and avoid pain. But does maximizing pleasure give us the lasting happiness that we all seek?
If we watch closely, we notice that pleasure does not make us happy. Pleasure is pleasure, a temporary gratification of desire. Happiness is a deeper satisfaction, a feeling of wholeness, of non-neediness.
In this program, you will learn how to apply the ancient teachings of Raja Yoga in your daily life in order to become more centered, happy, fulfilled, and to ultimately reach the highest goals of Yoga. Raja Yoga is also known as the Royal Path of Yoga; it provides a long-established, systematic approach that consists of eight parts or steps and includes both principles and practices. You will leave renewed and refreshed, with skills for continuing to nurture the inner peace, clarity, and happiness you seek.
