In our attempt to lead a happy, contented life, we so often neglect to look into our mind and do the necessary in order to uplift it. By learning how to identify our state of mind at any given moment, we can begin to make real, solid and positive changes !

The three gunas – Sattva, Rajas and Tamas, are the most subtle qualities of Nature that underlie matter, life and mind. These are the three basic characteristics or attributes that exist in all things, including our body and mind. All objects in the universe consist of various combinations of the three gunas.

Sattva is the quality of intelligence, virtue and goodness and creates harmony, clarity, balance and stability. It is luminous in nature and brings about the awakening of the soul. It provides happiness and contentment.

Rajas is the quality of change, activity, and turbulence. It creates a disequilibrium that upsets an existing balance. It is the force of passion that causes distress and conflict.

Tamas is the quality of dullness, darkness, and inertia. It is heavy, veiling and obstructing. It brings about ignorance and delusion in the mind and promotes insensitivity, sleep and loss of awareness. It is the principle that causes consciousness to become veiled.

The three Gunas determine our state of mind. Like the seasons of the year, they act in their own turn within the mind. When Sattva is predominant in the mind it produces knowledge and happiness. When Rajas is predominant it  produces restlessness, attachment and pain. When Tamas is predominant it produces depression and grief.

We must first learn to identify the condition of our mind with relation to the Gunas. The next step is to increase Sattva within the mind. By increasing Sattva, rajas and Tamas will be gradually removed. As one evolves on the path of Yoga, Sattva Guna too will be transcended and one will become established in the immeasurable Bliss of the Soul which is beyond the Gunas !

This webinar will provide you with knowledge , tools and inspiration to elevate and transform your mind. You will learn how to identify the condition of your mind and how to direct your mind towards peace and happiness!

This free webinar is an introduction to the upcoming course: The Bhagavad Gita – Free Your Mind ! which starts on June 6th.
