Brahma Sutra Immersion
Swami Sharvananda Giri
What is the Brahmasutra Immersion?
Experience an in-depth immersion in the Brahmasutras, one of three most important texts in Vedanta along with the principal Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. The Brahmasutras is estimated to be written 5,000 years ago and contains 555 verses. Learn about the nature of human existence, the metaphysical concept of Ultimate Reality, and the path to spiritual liberation.
Key Benefits for Participants:
- Profound Clarity of Self‑Knowledge – Dissolve lingering doubts about “Who am I?” through direct engagement with Vedanta’s core logic.
- Structured Framework for Liberation (mokṣa) – Grasp the sutras’ systematic roadmap from bondage to freedom, empowering a lifetime of purposeful practice.
- Enhanced Teaching & Leadership Skills – Yoga teachers and spiritual facilitators gain authoritative textual grounding to elevate classes, workshops, and counseling.
- Inner Resilience & Peace – Integrating brahma‑jñāna (knowledge of Ultimate Reality) naturally reduces anxiety, strengthens equanimity, and refines discernment.
- Community & Support – Connect with a global network of seekers and mentors committed to living Advaita in the 21st century.
Whether you’re a dedicated yogi, a philosophy enthusiast, or a seeker yearning for lasting freedom, this immersion offers the rare opportunity to sit at the feet of timeless wisdom—and let it transform your life from the inside out.
Mahatmas such as Swami Sharvananda Giri are among the most senior teachers of traditional Advaita Vedanta in India. They rarely—if at all—travel to the West or anywhere outside of India. In India, Mahatmas teach in the most traditional high Vedanta institutions such as the Kailash Ashram. These spaces are not even accessible to lay people!
More than a decade ago, Swami Swaroopananda, the acharya or spiritual director of our ashram, started to invite these Mahatmas to come to the Bahamas for a long stay (1-3 months) to teach in-depth intensive Vedanta Courses. He did so to allow the ashram’s swamis, brahmacharis, and senior staff the opportunity to study Vedanta in the appropriate, traditional, and authentic way. These courses are open to all who are at the ashram (guests, karma yogis).
